Off to the Midwest

by M A N @roquesdoodle

There won't be any Guitar Friday this week since I'm leaving for C2E2 in the morning and it appears to be shaping up to be a pretty busy show (I'm at booth 359-stop by and say hi). Nerd Prom of the Midwest is probably a little off the mark. I see it more like a Nerd Sadie Hawkins Dance.

So here are a few interesting things I thought I'd leave you with before heading off to the Windy City.

I'm sure most of you already know this, but I feel it's worth reiterating; we live in a world in which invisibility cloaks are real. Dwell on that for a moment.

We also live in a world where we are just now understanding why ropes don't come unraveled.

Here's an older article on the nifty art of creating shadow images by arranging refuse in just the right way.

D&D Insider has a great series of videos of the writers from Robot Chicken going through a little dungeon crawl.

Speaking of table-top gaming, Geek Chic has some truly AMAZING heirloom quality tables designed for gamers. I got to see a demonstration of The Emissary while I was in San Francisco for Wondercon a couple of weeks ago (thanks Ruth!). The craftsmanship is top-notch, the design is ingenious, and their furniture is fully customizable when you order. Well worth the money.

You know that annoying uncle who tells the story of how he had to walk five miles to school through two feet of snow, uphill, both ways? Tell him he ain't go nothin' on these kids.

And have you read my comic Dingo yet? If you haven't, give it a chance. You'll be glad you did. I'm also very proud of Hexed and the work I'm doing on 28 Days Later.

Lastly, here's a neat little short called Alma. Cute and creepy. Perfect.

And John's hands are working busily a day for your season 3 enjoyment so leave him some love in the comments.
